Pallin is an instrumental quartet based in Stockholm, Sweden including a member of highly acclaimed electro-acoustic trio TAPE(Hapna). The music of Pallin contains elements of americana, lyrical filmmusic, chamberjazz, live-electronica, contemporary music, bossa nova and free improvised music. The four members are Andreas S?derstr?m (acoustic guitar, trumpet), Christian H?rgren (cello), Tomas Hallonsten (live-electronics) and Andreas Axelsson (drums). The first album "A one bedroom apartment" (2000) was recorded as a duo by S?derstr?m and H?rgren. On the second album "Far from Yokohama" the band was expanded with Axelsson and Hallonsten. Both albums were blessed with splendid reviews in magazines all over the world. Pallin has cooperated with choreographers, performance artists and directors, and their songs have been used as soundtrack on swedish TV and radio. The band has made hundreds of live performances in Sweden and abroad.
Bright Moments contains their selected works of the past that are selected by cubic music. those 10 brilliant songs represents their cool aestheticism consisted with the vibration and echo of strings-oriented ensamble. they sound very simple but bear rich and narrative texture that reminds of some kind of sweet landscape or cinemascape.

"lontano" is Ichinose's second album following his impressive debut album "The Machieneries of Joy - Yorokobi no Kikai" (2002, current/ directed by Yoshihiro Hanno). "lontano" is an Italian word which means "from a distance" and also be used as an instruction "play as if heard from a distance/like echoes" in classical scores. "I always wish if the sound could be free from cheap and common"emotions" and be heard from somewhere beautiful and far beyond."
You will know that he successfully reflected the desire on his opus after you went through the atmosphere that reminds us of humidity of black forest, or rumbling from deep inside of the sea. Ichinose smartly packed two different approaches - one is structured by classical strings based on accurate scores, the other is textured with modern electronica/ambient flavors.
Going through his career from installations in public spaces to compositions for TV commercials, Ichinose brushed up his way of sublimation of sensuous images to composition.
It can be said that "lontano"is not only an intimate snapshot of Ichinose's existing worldview, also a monumental work which points wonder of openness and sincerity of music which cannot be covered with simplistic categorize or cheap tricks.

They kept developing their own unique and acrobatic musical ensemble for two years right after they released the highly acclaimed second album 'midnight breakfast'.GNU develops the completely original band ensemble by five great players which used jazz as the base focusing on sax player Masahiko Okura who plays an active part also as one person representing Japan of improviser. Their live performance is exciting and funny, and they got very high evaluation. In this work, the edit work before a Mix Down is introduced in the bolder form than based on the style of reproducing perfectly the acrobatic composition composed using the sequencer. "suro" is full of powerful energy or tricky beat, and it have a great impact on us. On the other hand, the latter of parts are mellifluous.Especially "round2" has a sentimental wonderful troll on two saxophone sounds (guest tenor saxophone player:Takumi Ito "Tsuki no wa"), and sinks into our feelings."suro" is a very profound work.

"meme?" is finally being out after two years of their production works.
Their process of compositions can be described as a collective of feedbacks - that is, Uozumi starts his production with sampling live improvisations of Yonago's trombone and other musicians.he keeps on cutting up and collaging till he discover indefinite factors such as unintended noise, causes of misunderstanding, and unconscious meanings. this process is like a hyperplasia of cells or, in other words, as if the sound grows with eating itself from the inside. stoned jazz, battle brakes, and after hours...you can hear various elements of living sound with enormous heat capacity.

Starting from the experience of musique concrete, the Italian duo z_e_l_l_e has linked the historical lesson of Pierre Schaeffer, rarefied stylizations of that same "narrative of memory", with the most recent evolutions in the electronica and post-digital music fields (glitch, click'n'cuts, microsound and so on).
The duo was founded early 2000 by Nicola Catalano and Maurizio Martusciello and released its debut CD "nth" on American label Line, a carefully crafted work of pointillistic abstraction, a sort of synthesis between science and humanism.
The new album "rjct::nw" goes further into a world of impalpable digital zen dimension, paraphrasing Samuel Beckett: a world of "vibrating contours... balances... breaking and reforming as we look at them... breathing colours, panting... swarming stillness... a world without weight, without strength, without shadow". minamo
Keiichi Sugimoto, aka Fonica of Tomlab and Tetsuro Yasunaga, an improviser/writer started minamo as session works in 1999. After Yuichiro Iwashita and Namiko Sasamoto joined, they have established their own aesthetics. their static and fragile electro-acoustic fascinates many audiences not just in Japan but the US, and Europe. The latest release 'beautiful' has just been out from Brooklyn's Apestaartje. Sugimoto, Sasamoto, and Yasunaga run a label 'fabric.' and 'cubic music'.

Through a 12" split with Matmos from FAT CAT and two solo albums(include the one from 12K), Chris Coode aka motion presents slow warmness with layers of low-bit samples. Nevertheless his activities remain somewhat anonymous, the minute mellowness covered with fogged noise attracts many of listeners and musicians.

masahiko okura
saxophonist/bass clarinet player. Okura started his career as a free jazz player influenced by new wave, dub, funk, and so on. Passing through various sessions and band activities, now he has reached at the style of making extremely micro and static sound with his saxophone. An opus on this compilation was made just with bass clarinet (with little edit). You must be surprised to hear this glitchy sound - all of them are only from his breathing via instruments.
yoshio machida
As a multiple artist, Machida is enthusiastic about focusing on a relation between material and processing under the theme of memory and resonance by making use of field recordings, amorphone(customized steel pan), and graphic art named 'photobatik'. Now he is making a new album following the second album 'Hypernatural #2' from Softl Music.

Namba is known as a member of Tokyo's cool and well-made, but somewhat cynical pop group 'Kuchiroro'. He is also running online selected CD shop 'Ontonson - www.ontonson.com'. This is his first recording as a solo artist. Its simple aesthetics made with pre-set sine waves of a sampler are worth listening to rely on it. Alejandra Salinas and Aeron Bergman -the owner of a Barcelona based label 'Lucky Kitchen' are identified their own 'Electric Folk Music'. They mixes elements of folklore and electro acoustic sound with exquisite balance. The base of the song on this compilation is a material of field recordings around their home. you can hear Alejandra's grand mother talking, puppies yelping, and TV shows among glitches and beautifully processed strings. it fits this album as the happy-sad ending with smiling.
